Children's Rights

The Convention on the Rights of the Child is an international Human rights agreement (also known as a human rights treaty) that outlines the specific rights that children and young people can claim. By signing up to this Convention, national governments commit to
protecting these rights in their countries.
Australia has signed up, or ratified this Convention and this means that Australia has a duty to make sure that all children/young people enjoy the rights in this treaty.

Here you can see the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and ways different countries show these rights to young people in their countries in ways they think young people will understand best and also children’s words about Rights.
